The second Mozart concerto concert of the season features one of Mozart’s sunniest piano concertos in A major with acclaimed Argentinian pianist Ingrid Fliter.
G&abor Tak&acs-Nagy continues his exploration of twentieth century British string music with two more miniature masterpieces, Vaughan-Williams’ folk-immersed Five Variants of Dives and Lazarusfor strings and harp, and Elgar’s beautifully melodic Chanson de Matin et de Nuit. Haydn’s Symphony no. 101, known famously as the ‘Clock’ after the ticking rhythm in the slow movement, sees the composer at his most inventive, charming and characterful.
