2018 marks 100 years since women in the UK got the right to vote — and we want to use our International Women’s Day concert as a platform to explore the role that women have played in music.  In her new work,

"/ˌfɛmɪˈnɪnɪti/." composer Laura Bowler takes the work of three artists from pop culture, including the iconic Björk and Joni Mitchell to draw influences from their music, aesthetic and visuals, to celebrate their work as stand out women in music. She is joined by Tine Thing Helseth who will be gifting us with her musical talents.  You will hear from some of the world’s most powerful female voices, and celebrate what it is to be a woman in contemporary society and confront society's ideas of the concept of femininity.
