Camerata Strings and Brass

Due to overwhelming demand from last year's audience, we present for the second year running a truly Manchester festive happening at the atmospheric Albert Hall on Peter Street. Camerata strings and brass will perform a stunning baroque programme spiced with an array of carefully selected carols – some brooding, others bursting with joy. For Gabrieli’s Sonatas and Canzonas, our mesmerising brass musicians will perform in each corner of the room, filling this old Wesleyan chapel with sound from every angle. In a twist on tradition, this event will be presented by Laura Bowler and Camerata’s very own principal flute, Amina Cunningham, giving you an opportunity to get to know one of our principal musicians that little bit better. Expect mulled wine and mince pies at the bar and a pin-drop atmosphere that will stay with you long after.

An insight into the brass family and its role throughout the ages. Camerata's Head of Creative Programming, Samantha McShane, is joined by students from RNCM for music and chat.

The stalls are located on the first floor and the balcony on the second, with stair climber access for wheelchairs only. The seating in the balcony takes the form of stepped risers with no backs, and whilst these offer spectacular views of the hall, please feel free to bring a cushion for added comfort if you wish. Chaired seating is provided in the stalls. Within each price band area, seating is unreserved and so will be taken on a first-come, first-served basis. Please note, seat numbers displayed on the booking website do not apply. Venue and seating details here
