  • Can I Gift Aid my donation to Manchester Camerata?

Yes. Both Manchester Camerata and the Manchester Camerata Trust are registered charities, numbers 503675 and 519574. Therefore, any donation made to either organisation is eligible for Gift Aid, meaning that we receive an extra 28p for every pound given at no extra cost to the donor. One off gifts, Patronages and Chair Endowments are all eligible for Gift Aid. However, as the Association of the Friends of Manchester Camerata is not a registered charity, Gift Aid cannot be added to membership fees.

When giving online, you will be given the option to Gift Aid your donation.

  • How is Manchester Camerata funded?

  • It seems that you have a lot of supporters. Why do you need my help?

Although Manchester Camerata receives financial support from a number of companies and charitable trusts, most of this support is what is known as 'restricted funding'. This means that it can only be spent on specific activities or projects. So, while we are able to deliver lots of fantastic projects we still need to raise significant amounts of money to cover our operating costs.

  • What is Gift Aid?

Support Camerata - Gift Aid It

Gift Aid is a simple scheme that enables charities to claim an additional 28p from every £1 donated by UK taxpayers. Following the reduction in Income Tax at the 2008 budget, tax relief is equal to 25p for every £1 donated. Until 2011, the Government will provide Transitional Relief of 2%. So while charities will claim 25p from each £1 donated, they will actually receive 28p until the 2011 tax year. For more information visit the HM Revenue and Customs website.
