The presented concert on 27th January 2010 is an opportunity for participating classes, and their peers across the school, to hear Manchester Camerata live at the Bridgewater Hall. This will give them the chance to familiarise themselves with the atmosphere of the hall before they have to perform there, and to see how the orchestra works, hopefully inspiring some ideas for how the groups would like their new songs to be orchestrated. The concert will be presented, guiding children through Beethoven's 6th Symphony, and will last approximately 1 hour.
Workshop 1 will focus on generating lyrics and ideas for music. Terry will lead the poetry aspects of the workshops, before Kate picks up and starts to sow some musical seeds.
Workshop 2 will be with Kate and a musician from Manchester Camerata, and will focus on further developing and refining the music for your song.
Workshop 3 will be focussed on making any last minute changes, rehearsing your song, and making sure it's up to performance standard!
The final concert is on 19th April 2010 at the Bridgewater Hall. There will be a rehearsal for performers in the morning, and the performance will be in the afternoon. All schools are invited to bring as many pupils as they wish to the performance, and parents will be able to attend as well.
Yes! We would like all online schools to come to the concert on 19th April and join in the celebration. Kate Pearson will be writing a song that all participants will learn before the concert that will be part of the grand finale. You will be sent a copy of this after Christmas.
