The Harrogate International Festival’s opening Gala Concert provided a night to remember with the energy of Manchester Camerata in combination with the superlative poetry of pianist Noriko Ogawa.
Opening with Webern’s uncharacteristically lush early Slow Movement, Adi Brett lead the orchestra through a thrilling string programme, including Mozart’s brilliant Piano Concerto No.9 and Elgar’s beautiful Serenade for Strings.
