MEN Article - orchestras in sync
Fri 2nd Oct 09 - 14:33

MANCHESTER CAMERATA can't afford to miss a beat when they play a unique synchronised performance with a band in Venice tomorrow.

The acclaimed orchestra, based at the Royal Northern College of Music, will be playing live at Manchester University while Venetian ensemble Ex Novo perform in Venice at EXACTLY the same time.

The live synchronised performance will be relayed to the Venice World Forum on Climate Change, which is taking place at the Doge's Palace in St Mark's Square, via the internet.

The two groups of musicians will perform Green Piece, a world premiere by Michele Dall'Ongaro, which has been specially commissioned for the conference. This will be the first time that two orchestras will have worked and performed together in this way.
