Judith Watson - Honorary Life Patron
Thu 8th Feb 2018 - 10:56

We are delighted to announce that Judith is becoming an Honorary Life Patron of Manchester Camerata.

Patronage of the arts is an historic relationship between supporters and artists and Judith has supported Manchester Camerata in ways above and beyond what was ever expected.  Judith began her journey with Manchester Camerata when she joined the board in 2011, and was subsequently appointed chair in 2013.  During that time, Judith led the board through a period of challenge, development and change.  In June 2017, Judith retired from the board having completed two full terms, just as the orchestra opened Glastonbury Festival and received the Royal Philharmonic Society ‘UK Ensemble of the year’ Award.  It was the innovative and pioneering work we do in the community that first caught Judith’s interest in Camerata, something she continues passionately to advocate for.  Without Judith’s time, energy, thought and commitment throughout this period, Camerata could not have achieved what it has.

Judith had this to say:

“I have been very proud to be chair of Manchester Camerata and privileged to see the amazing work Camerata does both on and off the stage. I have especially enjoyed working with Bob, his team and the board and I am proud of what we have achieved together.  It has been an exciting journey, if not challenging at times, and the orchestra continues to go from strength to strength.  I said we would make Camerata “rock”, and it does.

I am thrilled and delighted to be made an Honorary Life Patron of Manchester Camerata.”
