Jennifer Pike signs for Chandos

Most record companies are responding to the recession by cutting releases and artist rosters but Chandos has just signed exclusive contracts with six performers, one of which is Stockport-born Manchester Camerata collaborator Jennifer Pike.
Ralph Couzens, Chandos' Managing Director, said he was eager to secure the label's long-term future by signing young artists, so Jennifer will start with a recording of works for violin and orchestras, including the concerto by Rozsa, whose cello concerto will be recorded by another new signing, Pail Watkins. Both discs will feature the BBC Philharmonic conducted by Rumon Gamba.
