Camerata's NoteAble Numbers project reaches climax
Thu 16th Feb 2012 - 9:35

Manchester Camerata's NoteAble Numbers project reaches a climax on 23 March at the Royal Northern College of Music.  Sponsored by Bank of America Merrill Lynch, the project was designed to be used across primary, secondary and further education levels to promote a greater awareness of numbers and to create a new piece music.

All three stages of Manchester Camerata's NoteAble Numbers project have now come to an end - and project leader Kate Pearson is now pulling the score together for the sharing performance on 23 March 2012, at the RNCM in Manchester.

As part of the project, Pupils from primary and secondary schools across the North West of England selected a series of 15 random numbers.  They then considered themes and made music connected to the numbers in some way - 111 being Bilbo Baggins' birthday, or 7 Wonders of the Ancient World.

The team from Manchester Camerata includes composer Kate Pearson, Bassoonist Ben Hudson, Percussionist Janet Fulton, and Trumpeter Helen Quayle. The whole team, plus the the schools involved will come together at the RNCM to perform the new music!
