Gábor brings with him the passion and colour of the Hungarian musical legacy - a rich central European heritage, which will combine with the energy, humour and creativity of this most Mancunian of orchestras.
It promises to be a quite exceptional partnership, building on the highly successful Boyd/Camerata partnership of the last decade.
Gábor Takács-Nagy is of course no stranger to Manchester Camerata and has conducted several concerts for Camerata over the past two seasons.

The Gábor Takács-Nagy era has begun! Manchester Camerata is excited to announce that the great Hungarian musician Gábor Takács-Nagy has now taken up the role of Music Director, a role filled by Douglas Boyd who was with the orchestra for ten years.
Internationally known as a chamber music player and a founding member of the Takács Quartet, Gábor is now establishing a formidable reputation for himself as a conductor.
His decision to pursue the next phase of his career in Manchester is a real coup for the orchestra and for the city.
