Children and Young People in School

At Manchester Camerata we believe that every young person is creative and should have the opportunity to express themselves, develop their skills and experience live music-making with professional musicians.

We create new music on every Camerata in the Community project, whether that means writing a song about an important topic, composing instrumental music, or improvising together.

This music is performed across the North of England in professional arts venues, community venues, schools and more. We also record some of the music to use as a curriculum resource as a part of our training programmes.

Evidence shows that our work inspires learning across the curriculum and enables young people to develop new skills.

Each academic year, we deliver a range of creative projects in schools across the North of England which are designed in collaboration with partner organisations to bring learning to life.

Arts Award and Artsmark

Manchester Camerata are proud to work alongside Arts Council England and North West bridge organisation Curious Minds to ensure that every child and young person has access to high quality cultural education.

We offer young people the opportunity to complete an Arts Award as part of a Camerata in the Community project.

We are also Artsmark Partners, supporting schools to achieve Artsmark status and show their commitment to the arts.
