Gábor Takács-Nagy took up the post of Music Director with Manchester Camerata at the start of the 2011/12 Season.  Internationally known as a chamber music player and a founding member of the Takács Quartet, Gábor has now established a formidable reputation as a conductor.

His decision to pursue the next phase of his career in Manchester is a real coup for the orchestra and for the city.


Gábor brings with him the passion and colour of the Hungarian musical legacy - a rich central European heritage, which will combine with the energy, humour and creativity of this most Mancunian of orchestras.

It promises to be a quite exceptional partnership, building on the highly successful Boyd/Camerata partnership of the last decade.

Gábor Takács-Nagy is of course no stranger to Manchester Camerata and has conducted several concerts for Camerata over the past two seasons.
