Manchester Camerata are a versatile group of musicians who can perform in varying sized ensembles. Manchester Camerata Ensemble was formed in 1990 and features players from Manchester Camerata, one of the UK’s most distinguished chamber orchestras. The Ensemble is a flexible chamber group and has a busy schedule, performing regularly at the Royal Northern College of Music and at venues around the region.
Manchester Camerata Ensemble has premiered new works including Ivor McGregor’s Nonet and more recently Patrick Gowers’ Suite which was commissioned by the National Trust to celebrate its centenary. Recording projects have included new works with recorder virtuoso John Turner, string quartets by three North West composers, and more recently, string quartets and trios by John McCabe and David Ellis.
